I appreciated the scholarly approach by the author. This book was readable and the year dates on the far columns helped greatly.I have given this book a 4 since to me it was not as useful as I had hoped it to be. I was wanting more info on ancient Dalriad kings and was able to glean some info, but I guess since it is back in history a very long time, there is not much available except for those kings that were famous.
I found more info in this book than I found in the Geoffrey of Monmouth book which was a waste to me.
