Love and Romance An Anthology of Poetry Book 2 edition by Tom Benson Romance eBooks
This is an outstanding collection of love poems. If it were available as paperback, I would buy a few copies as Christmas presents for my girlfriends who complain that there is not enough romance in their lives. I believe that this book could work as their fantasy. Many women like books about love and romance, don’t they? And this is a really enjoyable read for many reasons. This book sounds very authentic, as if the author had written each poem for a specific person, usually a woman. Each poem is different, just as each woman is. There are poems about erotic tension, first love, pure lust, sex, disappointment, separation, charity and so much more. There is even something about love between two men and two women. A little bit of everything we usually associate with love and romance.
The wide scope of this book covering all kinds of love is precisely the reason why I think that this book could appeal to most women. First of all, every woman is a little bit different, so it is clever not to limit the content to only one particular form of love. In addition, most women prefer a greater variety of experience as far as romance is concerned. There are enough poems to suit all our moods and caprices.
Don’t be discouraged by the first poem, “A Helping Hand” just because it is neither romantic nor erotic in any explicit sense. It is about the need to help “the sick, infirm and old”. Being more impatient than I should, I was a little bit upset when I read the first poem for the first time. It is a touching poem, no doubt about that, but I did not buy this book to read about charity! I expected something sexy from the author of “Coming Around”. But the following poems turned out to be really good. The second poem was a romantic fairy tale about a knight who bravely faced witches while rescuing his maiden. And only a few poems further, I read about submission and spanking. And then it got even better... Most poems were romantic and sexy.
I guess that the order of the first poems is not just random. It seems very tricky in fact since it mirrors the way in which most women think of love and romance. Most women first want to make sure that they are dealing with a generous and considerate man, someone capable of charitable thinking. Then they want to hear some unrealistic fairy tales proving that the man understands the importance of their fantasy about a knight in shining armor. Only then are they willing to consider anything kinky he might suggest. I was in fact breaking the rules of my own gender when I expected a seductive poem right away. But I quickly realized my mistake and fully appreciated all the other poems of charity that kept popping up in a seemingly haphazard manner among less innocent verses on love and romance. Women need to be reminded that the man who is fulfilling their erotic fantasies (the poet in this case) is indeed a good man -- in order to feel safe. If this book is supposed to fulfill an average woman’s fantasy, it is following the right pattern.
One of the most common themes in these charming poems is getting undressed. The meaning is usually literal, but the poet also strips his soul in front of us, revealing some of his secret feelings. No matter whether these feelings are genuine or not, most women like it when a man is brave enough to express such feelings. I wonder why women like it so much when a man expresses his feelings in rhymes. I guess that it just gives us the right impression that he is disciplined, i.e. able and willing to follow aesthetic rules in order to impress us. These poems just sound great, so it is clear that the author must have put a lot of effort into them, though the rhymes seem to flow effortlessly and naturally almost like a long magic love song.
I hope that my analysis did not destroy the magic of this book. It is sometimes difficult to dissect things without killing them. I hope that this was not the case.

Love and Romance An Anthology of Poetry Book 2 edition by Tom Benson Romance eBooks Reviews
It's not often I read poetry, but I have previously read "Coming Around and other erotic stories" and thoroughly enjoyed it, so I decided to try out Mr Benson's "Love and Romance" poetry book. It's a nice, quick, enjoyable read and I am positive that people who read poetry would love this book and give it a 5 star rating. A poem from the book, called "Being Gay...and Happy" is one of my favourites and it tugged at my insides. Another favourite is "A Taste of Submission 2" (even more so after reading "A Taste of Submission 1"". If you read this book, trust me and read the two submission poems first ;-) "Learning About Love is another favourite of mine. It certainly had me chuckling at the end.
